León, Gto., June 20, 2019.- High school students from Guanajuato University (UG) obtained the first three places in the 13th edition of the Mathematics Competition organized by the College of Civil Engineers of León, the Department of Education Guanajuato - Delegation- and the Directorate of Municipal Education.

The high school students of León who obtained the first three places in the high school category were: first place, Víctor Jair Ojeda Hernández; second place, Emmanuel Hernández Escobar; and, third place, Emilio Martínez Miranda.

The competition - aimed at elementary, middle and high school students - aims to promote mathematical reasoning that promotes the personal growth of students in order to bring them closer to a better understanding the exact sciences and their application in the activities of daily life.

According to the call issued, tomorrow the first 5 places of elementary and the first 3 places of middle and high school will be awarded.

It is important to mention that the previous year UG high school students also got the top three places.

In this way, the University of Guanajuato maintains its utmost commitment to the integral training and development of the skills of its students.
