Guanajuato, Gto., July 26, 2019.- The student of Physical Activity Sciences and Health of the University of Guanajuato, Jaime Miranda Jaime will participate in mountain biking at the 2019 Pan American Lima Games that are held in that Peruvian city.

In telephone interview, Jaime Miranda said that his participation will take place on Sunday after a year of hard work and qualifying competitions.

"It's an Olympic test, it should be held in a time period of 1 hour 20 minutes to 1 hour 40 minutes on short tracks ranging from 3.5 to maximum 5 kilometers (...) We start all together and the first one to finish wins, they estimate that we should take 7 turns the men and 6 the women," the student of campus León said.

We will run on a track of 4.5 kilometers with very technical segments, many climbs, 'jumps' and sidewalks, "it is hard because it has many ascent sections", he added.

For the competitor who has 15 years practicing cycling of which 5 have been professional, "these tests require a lot of explosiveness, demand a lot of resistance and is very technical", so it is a very complete discipline.

Jaime Miranda noted that to qualify for the Pan American Games Lima 2019 he started working since 2018, "we have been working since October with the pre-season", the pre-classification was made from January of this year in the first national cups and then participated at the Pan American Championship held in the city of Aguascalientes, results that allowed him to reach Peru.

Within a month he will participate in the World Championships to be held in Canada, a situation that requires you to take care of aspects of nutrition, psychological aspects and have very strong training routines that allow you to have flattering results in the fair stakes in which he participates.

For Jaime it has been a challenge to combine his studies, with sport and work, but not impossible because he is already in the last semester of the degree "I think the knowledge that you get at the University helps because in my case I can combine what I study with my sport; it's a priceless plus but it's worth a lot."
