Guanajuato, Gto., July 24, 2019.- Students from various universities in the country and abroad currently participate in the 25th edition of UG Summers, an academic program that aims to promote a taste for scientific activity in any of its disciplinary areas.

Dr. Fernando Barrientos is a professor and researcher in the Department of Political Studies and Government, has participated since 2013 in several editions of the UG Summers and this time has received students from various latitudes such as the United States, France, Japan, Baja California, Sinaloa, Sonora, Guerrero, Nayarit to name a few.

The professor at the University of Guanajuato is a Doctor of Political Science with specialization in Comparative Politics reason why he receives students who intend to learn the methodology of comparative research, he said that "currently students in law, political science, public administration, international relations, translation and sociology, collaborate with me" also asserted that research is a tool for students to work professionally in the future in the workplace.

Yan Michel is a student at the University of Caen in France who decided to do a summer of research at the University of Guanajuato, in this regard commented that "I came to learn the research methodology in Political Science, I study translation but my interest is to learning this language. The level of the University of Guanajuato – of its students and professors – is very high, I am impressed, it also has good infrastructure".

The French student carries out a research project in which he analyzes unemployment and poverty in the state of Oaxaca and mentioned that his comparative study is to observe why in Mexico poverty is not linked to unemployment and in France it is.

On the other hand, the student Abril Medina Topete of the Autonomous University of Baja California also conducts a summer of research at the University of Guanajuato in which she develops a project on the insertion of women between Mexico and Sweden.

Abril Medina indicated that the results of her research will be exhibited at the Institutional Congress at the University of Guanajuato and will also make a presentation at her university of origin.

It should be mentioned that UG Summer promotes and facilitates the approach of students to scientific research by developing this stay with active researchers from the University of Guanajuato itself and allowing them to participate in a real project, having the opportunity to present the results of this research stay in an Institutional Congress.
