Guanajuato, Gto., July 29, 2019.- One of the main hallmarks of the University of Guanajuato (UG) is its internationalization, each semester receives both foreign and national exchange students, which has consolidated the educational institution as the third at the national level that receives more students from other countries.

On this occasion, on behalf of the President of the University of Guanajuato, Luis Felipe Guerrero Agripino, the Academic Secretary, Dr. Sergio Antonio Silva Muñoz welcomed students from other latitudes who came to Guanajuato to be part of an academic exchange on one of the four university campuses: Campus Guanajuato, Campus Celaya-Salvatierra, Campus Irapuato-Salamanca and Campus León.

The Academic Secretary of the University of Guanajuato indicated that the exchange goes far beyond academics because cultural knowledge is also acquired, new forms of life are known, and empathy is generated. He thanked students from 17 countries on the four continents – Japan, Taiwan, Colombia, Brazil, Holland, Spain, Germany, France, among others – for choosing the University of Guanajuato as the home of one of the most enriching experiences of its Life.

For his part, the Director of International Relations and Academic Collaboration, Dr. Elías Ledesma Orozco stated that the University of Guanajuato is a space in which actions of high social commitment can be established and invited the student community to enjoy your stay and share what you learned on your return.

On behalf of students returning to their home country, Sakura Mochizuki of Soka University in Japan provided a message in which he recounted his experience in the year he spent at Guanajuato University to learn Spanish. "I had a complete experience because I was able to deepen my knowledge, meet people from other countries and I also learned about Mexican culture in one of its best educational institutions," she said.

Similarly, there was an intervention by a student who will hold an exchange stay in the school semester that is about to begin, Kevin Stromitzki of the University of Applied Sciences and Arts in Dortmund, Germany. In his participation he hoped to perfect his Spanish and learn about the history of Mexico and Guanajuato, encouraged the students who recently arrived in the state to enjoy their exchange and make this experience an unparalleled event.

The event was attended by the Director of Student Development, M. José Osvaldo Chávez Rodríguez, executives of the four university campuses and the College of the Higher Middle Level.
