Guanajuato, Gto., August 10, 2019.- With the accompaniment of important civil associations, students from the University of Guanajuato (UG) of the Engineering Division (DI) Guanajuato Campus, made interventions in at least five communities in this capital city with the central objective of help the most vulnerable sector in society and reduce levels of inequality.

This, during the "Second Latin American Community Link Conference" held from July 27 to August 3 of this year, which in turn is part of the institutional model of Community Link in the Engineering Division, headed by Dr. Luis Luis Enrique Mendoza Puga, who actively participated in the activities.

For the 2nd Latin American Community Link Day, the following axes of action were implemented to reduce levels of inequality in communities: accessible education, basic infrastructure and productive communities.

It is worth mentioning that The Latin American Community Link Conference is organized by the Engineering Division of the University of Guanajuato and the National Association of Students of Civil Engineering (ANEIC MX). It also has the coordination of the Latin American Association of Civil Engineering Students (ALEIC), the Latin American Coordination of Architecture Students (CLEA), the National Coordination of Architecture Students (CONEA) and the National Association of Design, Urbanism and Planning Students (ANEDUP).

This Day involved 200 students from all over Mexico and 20 students from Bolivia, Costa Rica, Honduras, Nicaragua, Peru and El Salvador.

Even, aware of the importance of teamwork and the continuity of the project, they decided to incorporate new educational programs to this 2nd Day: Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Architecture, Geography, Medicine, Nursing, Biology, Chemistry, Psychology and Nutrition.

During the day, a brigade was held to raise information for the development of its system of indicators, based on the General Law on Social Development in terms of mechanisms for assessing and monitoring its Community Link model to know the impact of each of the programs they have implemented within the communities served.

Among the communities intervened are: El Tablón, El Varal, Agua Colorada, La Concepción and Ciénega de Negros, where work was carried out as the introduction of water pipe to supply storage tanks; Drinking water network design, community development center construction, recreational area rehabilitation, multipurpose court design, housing waterproofing and various workshops for the inhabitants of these communities.

Likewise, infrastructure projects such as septic tanks, bridges, improvement of roads, courts, backyard plots and science fairs were undertaken.
