Guanajuato, Gto., August 9, 2019.- The graduate of the Guanajuato High School (ENMS) of the University of Guanajuato (UG), Laura Esther Galván Rodríguez won gold in the 5 thousand meters event at the Pan American Games in Lima 2019.

Laura Galván known as "La Gacela" earned her pass to the Pan American Games by achieving a time of 4 minutes 16 seconds in the National First Force Athletics based in Chihuahua in the race of the 1 thousand 500 meters.

"La Gacela", originally from Guanajuato achieved the third gold medal for Mexico in athletics tests, running 12 and a half laps to the track with a record of 15 minutes, 35 seconds and 47 hundredths.

This well-deserved achievement has been a result of her great effort, dedication and perseverance in this sport, since the age of 10 he has dedicated himself to this sport while maintaining his studies; however in 2016 he had to pause his sporting dreams to pursue her studies in Food Engineering in the United States.
