Guanajuato, Gto., August 5, 2019.- University professor Dr. José Eduardo Vidaurri Aréchiga, obtained first place on the working table of Mexican cities with the appointment of World Heritage, in the framework of the 20th Anniversary of the Appointment of the City of San Francisco de Campeche, with that category.

Dr. Vidaurri Aréchiga is a professor in the Department of Business Management and Management of the Division of Administrative Economic Sciences (DCEA) of the Guanajuato Campus of the University of Guanajuato (UG). He is also a municipal chronicler of Guanajuato and participated as a speaker at the forty-second congress of the National Association of Chroniclers of Mexican Cities A.C. and the Third National Meeting of the Chronicle that was held in the Port of San Francisco de San Francisco de Campeche.

His presentation "Guanajuato 30 years as a World Heritage Site", presented a historical tour through the milestones that have formed the awareness of the protection and conservation of the city of Guanajuato as the creation of the Board of Colonial Monuments in the the 1930s, the enactment of the Guanajuato Heritage Protection Act in 1953, the Guanajuato declaration as an area of historical monuments in 1982 and the inclusion of the city on the world heritage list in 1988. He also highlighted the process that Guanajuato has experienced to become a cultural tourist destination by the force of its history and heritage.

Professor Eduardo Vidaurri participated in the Congress of Chroniclers - held from 16 to 19 July - as a member of the delegation of Guanajuatenes chroniclers who attended the meeting where scholars of the history, tradition and culture of Mexican cities.
