Salvatierra, Gto., August 2, 2019.- With an investment of 76 million pesos in its first stage opened its doors the Janicho headquarters of the University of Guanajuato (UG), Campus Celaya-Salvatierra to receive students, professors and administrative staff who will contribute to the growth and development of the innovation, entrepreneurship and job creation.
This first stage will start with the educational offer of the bachelor's degrees in Nursing and Obstetrics and Agribusiness, in addition the headquarters is enabled with state-of-the-art technology and with enough and adequate furniture for the benefit of the student population that is estimated in 350 students.
At the inaugural event, the President of the University of Guanajuato, Dr. Luis Felipe Guerrero Agripino mentioned that each headquarters of the educational institution represents the opportunity to become a community and to be close to society. He noted that institutional commitment was to expand more spaces, but with quality, equity and inclusion.
He expressed his gratitude to those who have collaborated since 2007 to realize this project. He emphasized that the University of Guanajuato is a meeting point because this was demonstrated by those who promoted the construction of this headquarters. He emphasized that the inauguration of the Janicho headquarters represents the indeclinable social commitment of the maximum house of studies in the state.
Meanwhile, the Constitutional Governor of the State of Guanajuato, Mr. Diego Sinhue Rodríguez Vallejo said that the Janicho headquarters will enhance the development of the area through the training of professionals and stressed that it is a project that links society, the government and academia. It also offered to continue to support the next stage of this project with financial resources.
The Secretary of Management and Development of the University of Guanajuato, Dr. Jorge Alberto Romero Hidalgo spoke about the details of the work, said that the investment was more than 76 million pesos, "it is a bet to the future, an investment in education". He distinguished that the building has three modules, including classrooms, teacher cubicles, common spaces and cafeteria.
For her part, the Rector of the Celaya-Salvatierra Campus, Dr. Graciela Ma. of Luz Ruiz Aguilar indicated that this is the opening of the fifth headquarters of the Celaya-Salvatierra Campus, which has 23 educational programs that are taught in face-to-face and distance mode.
The Municipal President of Salvatierra, Alejandrina Lanuza Hernández expressed her gratitude to those who have participated in the project that had its first background in 2007, with the donation of a property. She asserted that, with the arrival of higher education institutions in the municipality, the inhabitants of the region have new life options.
Gisel Iridian Lara Vega, a student of the educational program of the Bachelor of Agribusiness of the Division of Social and Administrative Sciences, representing the university community, invited her peers to commit to be better students and the helped to work for their goals because the country needs them.
It should be noted that the Celaya-Salvatierra Campus of the UG is distinguished by offering academic programs closely linked to the development of the area and focusing its research to respond to the needs of the environment. It serves the population of municipalities such as Acámbaro, Coroneo, Jerécuaro, Santiago Maravatío, Apaseo El Grande, Apaseo El Alto, Comonfort, Cortazar, Juventino Rosas, Tarimoro and Villagrán.
The inauguration was attended by sole-on-one authorities, representatives of collegiate bodies, former UG executives, project benefactors, legislators and representatives of the government sector, as well as members of the campus university community Celaya-Salvatierra.
