Guanajuato, Gto., September 2, 2019.- The University of Guanajuato (UG), through the Conciudadanía Program will collaborate with the project of care in Clinical Psychology for Children and Adolescents of the municipality of Guanajuato led by the DIF Municipal Guanajuato System and the civil association "Sonríe Conmigo" (Smile with me).

The opening of the offices, in the presence of representatives of the institutions involved, marked the beginning of the program of "Attention in clinical psychology for children and adolescents in vulnerable situation in the Municipality of Guanajuato" in which students from the Celaya-Salvatierra Campus participate.

In this regard, Dr. Isaura Arreguín Arreguín, academic head of the project, representing Dr. Silvia del Carmen Delgado Sandoval, Director of the Division of Health Sciences and Engineering of the Campus, recalled that child intervention will be provided with evaluation, diagnosis and, if children have characteristics from addictions or alterations of neurodevelopment, they will be channeled to institutions that are specifically created for this purpose. "We will work with all those children who face fears, phobias, anxiety, depression, sleep disturbance, dissocial disorder, infancy shyness and excretion disorders."

In addition, workshops will be offered to parents to guide them in behavioral and psychoeducational problems.

In this regard, the Director of the Municipal DIF Guanajuato, Patricia Sánchez said that this institutional alliance will allow to expand psychological care to minors who require it since it is a priority to provide them with tools that allow them to have a good quality of life.

In view of its primary objective, Conciudadanía UG aims to influence substantive aspects of the university activity and its members, in order to promote conditions that allow them to access a better quality of life and generate a multiplier effect on the social environment; particularly through external linkage with institutions that also promote the culture of self-care and the promotion of health, in this case, through social service.

The offices "Smile with me" started activities on Monday, September 2, are in Plaza Chiapas of the El Encino colony in Guanajuato capital and will offer care to the entire capital population that requires it at a time from 9:00 to 17:00 hours.

The event was attended by Mr. Martha Janet Lara González, Liaison of the Conciudadanía Program of the University of Guanajuato; Local Deputy Martha Delgado Zárate; M. Jesús Rodrigo Guadalupe Nájera Trujillo; Chairman of the Board of Directors of Smile A.C. city council members, among others.
