Celaya, Gto., September 18, 2019.- Students of the Regional Equity Program of the Celaya-Salvatierra Campus presented the work projects with which they seek to impact the development of families and support their communities of origin.

In the presentation of projects, which seek to generate resources and rescue ancestral traditions, was Dr. Graciela Ruiz Aguilar, Rector of the Campus, who told them about the importance of creating networks of collaboration to achieve their purpose of opening the doors to their communities towards a world of possibilities. He stressed the importance of learning to work in multidisciplinary teams and solving problems with an inclusive and participatory vision.

"You will be a spearhead for other young people to be encouraged to study," she said, and I invite you to impact through your projects by translating the knowledge acquired in classrooms into practical actions for the benefit of others.

Dr. Silvia del Carmen Delgado, Director of the Division of Health Sciences and Engineering and Dr. Benito Rodríguez Haros, of the Division of Social and Administrative Sciences, mentioned the sacrifices involved in opening a gap and being a spearhead, and for this reason they congratulated as they accepted the challenge of being agents of change for their families and communities, "opportunities are sought and exploited," stressed Dr. Benito Rodríguez.

Through the Regional Equity Program, young people from state communities get a scholarship to continue studying in one of the UG's educational programs. When they obtain the scholarship, they have the opportunity not only to continue studying, but to be an example in many ways for the inhabitants of the places from which they come.

Some of them will be the first of their families to do higher-level studies, others are the first professionals in their community. The programs to which they are enrolled are Civil Engineering, Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation, Clinical Psychology and Administration.

For some the initial opportunity opened the way to the International Mobility Program and they are making academic stays in universities abroad, increasing their skills that in the short term will translate into individual development, family and social.

The State Department of Education and Guanajuato University form a binomial to promote the Regional Equity Program and meet the commitment to provide quality and equity education in listed regions with high lag rates.

The selected students perform outstanding academically and come from high school subsystems such as CBETIS, CBTA, CETIS, CECyTE, Conalep, SABES, UVEG and others, settled in communities of Jerécuaro, Tarimoro, Acámbaro, Pénjamo, Romita, Atarjea, Los Rodríguez, etc.
