Guanajuato, Gto., October 9, 2019.- The University of Guanajuato (UG) will provide a showcase of its vast artistic and cultural offer in the 47th edition of the Cervantino International Festival (FIC).

During the opening of Casa Canada, UG President, Dr. Luis Felipe Guerrero Agripino referred to the thematic axis of the "Feast of the Spirit", Migrations, and argued that human beings have established borders, but has also been able to build bridges through art.

He pointed out that humanity demanded bonds of collaboration and emphasized that the message of the Cervantino Festival is precisely the power of art, which allows us to recognize and value the diversity of human beings.

On this occasion, the programming of the so-called "Party of the Spirit" includes 77 events held by the Maximus House of Studies of the state, among artistic presentations, academic activities and film screenings.

The participation of the university groups that year by year delight the festival audience with their performances: eight performances of the University Theater, two performances of the Symphony Orchestra of the University of Guanajuato (OSUG) and the traditional presentation of the Folkloric Ballet (BAFUG) in the Alhóndiga de Granaditas.

Twenty-five university spaces will host artistic demonstrations that will present the countries and states invited to this cultural celebration.

In addition, the Movie Club de la UG will have 7 film cycles, with a total of 53 screenings and 8 academic activities; and the Art Spaces will host 5 exhibitions.

In this way, the University of Guanajuato is positioned as the most important educational and cultural project in the state and recalls the university artists who, with plenty of impetus, started the most consolidated artistic festival in Latin America.
