Guanajuato, Gto., October 21, 2019.- Fourteen high school students from Guanajuato University (UG) were selected to contest for a place in the delegation that will represent the state at the National Chemistry Olympiad.

After his participation in the XXIX State Chemistry Olympiad where 101 high school students from the state of Guanajuato competed, of these, 16 were selected for the next phase.

This is the third filter that students perform, the first was carried out at each institution to select ten students; a second stage - regional - was carried out in September with the headquarters of the UG High School (ENMS), in which 386 students participated, and from there the 101 who presented in the state stage were selected.

Of the 16 students selected, 14 are from the ENMS of The Historical Center of León, Guanajuato, León, Salvatierra and Silao, and the other two students are from other subsystems of the state.

During this edition, students took an exam that lasted two hours, which the advisor professors subsequently evaluated together to get the first 16 places.

State delegates chemist Víctor Manuel Mejía Cobos and Dr. Jesús Raúl Lugo Martínez commented that these students will be in training on weekends, with professors from the Division of Natural and Exact Sciences of the University of Guanajuato to, in December, make up the delegation of six students who will represent the state at the National Olympics.

In this way concluded the XXIX edition of the state stage of the Chemistry Olympics where students continued the process to obtain a place in the delegation that will represent the state at the National Olympics next year.
