León, Gto., October 25, 2019.- In order to promote the artistic and cultural expressions created by the student community, the student Luis Emmanuel Ramírez García, student of the eighth semester of the bachelor of Culture and Art presented his work "Fragments of a Broken Mind" in the Department of Health Sciences of the University of Guanajuato (UG), Campus León.

In 2017, Emmanuel was diagnosed with various disorders: sleep, depressive, panic and generalized anxiety. So, he found in art a therapy that would help not only cope with these pathologies; but sought to express to others the sensations that are generated in people with these kinds of conditions.

"Fragments of a Broken Mind" is a work that is presented for the second time on the premises of the Campus León and gathers 28 drawings, three sculptures and an audio recorded by Emmanuel.

The drawings were mostly made with the scribble technique and he defined his strokes as loose, strong and violent. Which has reflected the mental situation he has been facing for two years.

He emphasized that the sculptures were created as the representation of three voices that he managed to conceptualize through some strong crises that he faced, obtaining at least an approximation of what he was observing at the time.

He managed to complement his work with an audio that he recorded himself and that manifests the auditory thoughts that afflict him when he heard three different voices. Which, he united in the same tempo to represent the crises he has come to present.

He also recognized the collaboration of Carolina Moreno Vidallana and Mireya Shantal González Del Castillo Cisneros, students also of Culture and Art, who supported in the curatorship, management of space and ensured that everything was ready for the presentation of the work.

In an interview, Carolina Moreno stated that the academic training she has received at the UG, has served to transcend her in these kinds of projects that are developed outside the classroom and narrated the participation that she and her colleague Mireya had in this sample.

In conclusion, the artist said that he hopes to be able to continue to present "Fragments of a Broken Mind" in other academic and artistic spaces, in order for the public to come to understand the situation experienced by people diagnosed with a mental disease.

He appreciated the invitation and the support of the Department of Psychology to present this work that can be visited at the San Carlos Headquarters of the León Campus of the UG until November 2.
