León, Gto., October 31, 2019.- The university community of the Campus León of the University of Guanajuato (UG) obtained excellent results in the 26 State Health Research Competition organized by the Institute of Public Health of the State of Guanajuato and the State Health Care Research Committee.

Three professors-researchers and two students of the Master of Medical Science presented research posters in the modality of mental health, clinical research and applied science; the exhibition of their work was held at the State Health Research Forum 2019, where they received their recognition and financial support to each of their work at the hands of Dr. Daniel Díaz Martínez, Secretary of Health of the State.

Osvaldo Rafael Ramírez Ibarra, student of the Master's Degree in Medical Sciences was awarded the first place in the poster modality of clinical research with the title "The correlation of the maternal metabolic profile with the placental endothelial damage" in which it has been found that the mother's body mass index (BMI) before pregnancy has a correlation with histopathological lesions found at the end of pregnancy.

The study was conducted with 17 pregnant women who attended gynecology consultation in the city of León, between the ages of 18 to 40 years, healthy, unique pregnancy, without evidence of any metabolic disease.

The team of this study was composed of academics and students from the Department of Medical Sciences of the León Campus of the UG, such as Dr. Lorena del Rocío Ibarra Reynoso, Dr. Yeniley Ruíz Noa, Dr. María Luisa Lazo de la Vega Monroy and the pupil of the educational program of physician surgeon Gonzalo Arroyo Díaz; who is a current resident of Gynecology at the National Institute of Perinatology. As well as the collaboration of Dr. Francisco Anaya Torres of the Campestre Medical Hospital and Dr. Juana Rosalba García Ramírez, from the Department of Pathology of the General Hospital of León.

Osvaldo Ramírez commented in interview that the importance of this type of studies is that it is known what is being done in the laboratories of the Department of Medical Sciences to have a clinical utility in the first health contact, in this case take care of the pregestational weight and monitor the mother's lipid profile during pregnancy.

On the other hand, Mariana Vianey Flores Nicasio also a student of the Master's Degree in Medical Sciences presented another poster entitled "Relationship of serum concentrations of Neurokinin B (NKB) in vasomotor and emotional symptoms in women in reproductive stage, peri and post menopause" with which he got the first place in the applied science modality.

The student commented that they gathered 45 women through the Municipal Institute of Women, in this study participated Dr. Juan Manuel Malacara Hernández and Dr. Nicté Figueroa Vega, researchers from the Department of Medical Sciences.

Other participants in mental health were the professors-researchers, Dr. Víctor Manuel Ramos Frausto of the Department of Nursing and Obstetrics headquarters León; Dr. Charles Ysaacc Da Silva Rodríguez, from the Department of Psychology and Dr. Rebeca Monroy Torres, who is attached to the Department of Medicine and Nutrition, all of them from the Campus León.

The working group of the three academics presented a poster entitled "The Physiological Changes of the nucleus accumbens in the rehabilitation process and its influence on the suicidal ideation of methamphetamine addicts (crystal)"; with this study they took third place.
