In addition to the students of the University of Guanajuato (UG), the Guanajuato delegation is composed of Jesús Omar Sistos Barrón, José de Jesús Liceaga Martínez, Isaac Pancardo Botello and Héctor Fernando Ricárdez Lara.

The OMM delegate in Guanajuato and undergraduate student in Mathematics at the UG, Myriam Hernández Ketchul, made it known that on this occasion thousand 844 students participated in the selection process to integrate the state delegation.

This process consists of a series of tests that are carried out over approximately seven months, during which time young people participate in trainings supported by members of the UG and the Center for Research in Mathematics (CIMAT).

Myriam Hernández noted that each state defines the selection criteria, and in the case of Guanajuato in the final phase of the process were applied exams in October and the score obtained was added the results they had at the West Regional Olympics.

The delegate in Guanajuato added that after selecting the six people who make up the delegation of the state of Guanajuato, they will continue with the trainings to participate in the national phase of the Olympics.

The Mathematics Olympiad is intended to incentivize a taste for this discipline, and allows to foster ties between students who have an interest in the study of this science.
