Guanajuato, Gto., November 7, 2019.- The University of Guanajuato (UG) is home to the Second Colloquium Inter-venues of the Interinstitutional Doctorate in Human Rights, an event that takes place this November 7 and 8.

At the opening event, UG President Dr. Luis Felipe Guerrero Agripino referred to the expectations generated in society by an academic program like this and urged those involved to reflect on how their work may live up to social demands.

The Technical Secretary of the Interinstitutional Doctoral Program in Human Rights, Dr. Mario Alfredo Hernández Sánchez explained that the idea of the meeting is to bring together all students from all venues to exchange progress and participate in a discussion academic on the main lines of research.

He detailed that the thematic cores addressed are: Democracy and Human Rights, International Justice, Social Rights, Serious Violations and Criminal Justice.

In addition, he said that this was a sui generis doctorate, which was designed both to strengthen rights management capacities by people in the public service, as well as to promote research. One of the successes is that there is a diversity of profiles and views.

"Of all the postgraduate human rights training in the country, I would dare say that we are the strongest by the institutions we are gathered for, but also by this diversity of profiles," he said.

At the opening ceremony, the Rector of the Guanajuato Campus, Dr. Teresita de Jesús Rendón Huerta Barrera emphasized the importance of the topics that will be analyzed here and wanted success in the work.

The work of the colloquium will be carried out this November 7 and 8, in the facilities of the UG, where approximately 50 students from the doctoral programme meet.
