Guanajuato, Gto., November 15, 2019.- With a reflection on the challenges faced by legal science and its impact on the solution of social problems, the activities of the III Research Seminar of the Interinstitutional Doctorate in Law of the Public Universities of the West Central Region of the National Association of Universities and Institutions of Higher Education (ANUIES).

At the opening ceremony, the President of the University of Guanajuato, Dr. Luis Felipe Guerrero Agripino, recalled that the project began in 2004 and to date the program has 115 graduates, 26 of whom are currently part of the National System of Researchers (SNI).

This data confirms the progress of a project that emerged with the purpose of forming high-level cadres in the field of scientific knowledge of the law, noted Dr. Guerrero, who recalled that he had the privilege of being part of the first academic core of this doctorate.

He added that in addition to celebrating the results of the work as a whole, it was necessary to take on new challenges, so that the Interinstitutional Doctorate in Law (DID) would keep up with the circumstances, because now, as it was 14 years ago, it was pressing strengthen the state of law in the country.

For his part, the Director of the Department of Law and institutional representative of the UG to the Academic Council of the DID, Dr. Leandro Eduardo Astrain Bañuelos, pointed out that this House of Studies has been an intense focus of scientific activity on the law, and so demonstrate the variety of postgraduate studies, the number of publications and the wide range of academic events.

This pace of work is explained," he said, "because the community understands that the law is in the process of transformation that leads to questioning the current ness of the methods and ways of operating by traditional jurists who were trained in the nineteenth-century criteria.

He therefore reiterated the welcome to the UG of the participants in the Research Seminar and stressed that this institution had distinguished itself as an open space for discussion and diversity of ideas.

The institutional representative of the University of Colima to the Academic Council and Technical Secretary of the DID, Dr. Jessica Cristina Romero Michel, noted that those who are immersed in the social sciences face multiple challenges where it is no longer enough to reproduce the results of a text investigation, but it is already necessary to encourage the production of knowledge in the timely attention of social needs and in the attention of national problems.

At the opening ceremony, the Director of the Division of Law, Politics and Government (DDPG) of the UG, Dr. Eduardo Pérez Alonso, was present, who agreed that the DID has established itself as a hotbed of lawyers in the central area of the country.

Also attended by the Postgraduate Coordinator of the DDPG, Dr. Guillermo Rafael Gómez Romo de Vivar, as well as members of the academic community of the UG and the institutions that are part of the Network, that is, the Autonomous University of Aguascalientes, Universidad Autonomous Nayarit, University of Colima, and Michoacana University of San Nicolás de Hidalgo.
