Tlaxcala, Tlax., November 15, 2019.- In recognition of her leadership and outstanding career as a lawyer, Dr. Teresita de Jesús Rendón Huerta Barrera was appointed President of the International Association of Administrative Law (AIDA) for the period 2019-2024.

The designation was revealed during the AIDA General Assembly in Tlaxcala, and where the IX International Congress and XI Mexican Administrative Law were also held.

To take office of the AIDA, two candidates were proposed: Dr. Teresita Rendón Huerta Barrera, Rector of the Guanajuato Campus of the University of Guanajuato and Dr. Rodolfo Ortiz Ortiz, Secretary of Self-Realization of the Autonomous University of Tlaxcala.

Dr. Rendón Huerta Barrera would continue to hold the Presidency of the Mexican Association of Administrative Law until minutes before assuming the Presidency of the AIDA.

Dr. Juan Francisco Pérez Gálvez, Professor of Administrative Law at the University of Almería, Spain, will be responsible for giving the Presidency to Dr. Rendón Huerta Barrera.

The International Association of Administrative Law is an academic and scientific association that has among its objectives to promote the development of substantive and procedural administrative law; as well as promoting the research, teaching, study, dissemination and development of this discipline.

To accomplish these purposes, it organizes conferences, seminars, symposia, conferences and academic events focused on administrative law.

The AIDA was established in 2006 and had as its first President Dr. Jorge Fernández Ruiz, who held that position until 2011. However, he remains Honorary Life President of the Association while serving as Coordinator of the Administrative Law Area of the Institute of Legal Research of the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM).
