Guanajuato, Gto., November 19, 2019.- From this November 19 until 22, a group of accreditors from the International Institute of Accreditation of Law A.C. (IIDEA) will work with the academic authorities of the Law, Politics and Government Division (DDPG) of the Guanajuato Campus of the University of Guanajuato (UG), in the re-accreditation of the law degree.

The start of the work was presided over by Dr. Eduardo Pérez Alonso, Director of the Division, who held the verification visit for the purposes of the international re-accreditation of the law degree and welcomed the IIDEA accreditors, who in this week they will do their verification work.

Present in the welcome protocol was Dr. Leandro Eduardo Astraín Bañuelos, Director of the Department of Law, who recalled that just over 11 years ago, the University of Guanajuato was transformed into the departmental model, in which the responsibility of the teachers rest with the Department Directors, so it was made available to the verifiers to follow up and accompany the process.

Likewise, Dr. Ricardo Rodríguez Luna, Academic Secretary of the DDPG, who stated that in his position he is part of the daily activities with the students and collegiate life, for which he will also be actively participating in this verification.

In this order, Dr. Antonio Olguín Torres, a full-time professor in the Department of Law, is also involved as institutional head of the evaluation and accreditation processes in which the UG has been involved for more than 20 years, on the understanding that it that is not measured is not known, and with a deep commitment to quality.

M. Jesús Arellano Gómez, Coordinator of the Law Degree, made the presentation of the Educational Program to the accreditors, to whom he expressed the importance of knowing the opinion of people from another country about it in order to improve in a program representative of the UG, which is willing to grow and evolve.

Also, from this House of Studies, program coordinators, attendees and professors participated, whilst Dr. Oscar Lorenzo Castillo Guido, Coordinator of the International Institute of Accreditation of Law A.C. (IIDEA) lead the group of visitors.

Dr. Castillo commented that this organism was established in 2009 in Managua, Nicaragua; his country of origin, as an accompanying entity, advice and instrument of continuous improvement.

He recalled that the UG had already been in many accreditation processes and thanked the attention to these processes that are not a "police activity", but of academic peers who have the same idea of quality work, of excellence, so he advanced the willingness for it to this meeting is successful.

Also, in the group of verifiers are Dr. Denisse Balarezo Mares, of the Universidad San Juan Bautista de Lima, Peru, who also accompanied the first accreditation process; Dr. Yezid Carrillo de la Rosa, from the University of Cartagena, Colombia and Dr. Walter Mauricio Robles Rosales, also from Lima, Peru.

It should be mentioned that the people responsible for the accreditation process are Dr. Luis Felipe Guerrero Agripino, President of the UG; Dr. Teresita de Jesús Rendón Huerta Barrera, Rector of the Guanajuato Campus and Dr. Eduardo Pérez Alonso, Director of the Division of Law, Politics and Government (DDPG).
