Guanajuato, Gto., October 9, 2015. With a text centered in how the travel story in 19th century literature has changed, Francisco Gallardo, graduate from the Master degree in Spanish-American Literature from the University of Guanajuato obtained the first place in the National Contest for Literary Essay "Alfonso Reyes" 2015.

The essay "Andar de espaldas, la reescritura del relato del viaje decimonónico en el viajero del siglo de Andrés Neuman" (Going backwards, the rewrite if the nineteenth travel story in the traveler from the century from Andrés Neuman) is a work which the M. Gallardo dedicated almost a year and a half. He then expressed his satisfaction that the essay see the light, and divulge no only his job, but the work from this Argentinian writer.

With this essay, he retakes the story of travels from the 19th century and at the same time, Neuman's novel. Analyzes how in two centuries, "the travel experience has reformulated the way literary stories are written".

This led the author to several topics: the traveler inside a labyrinth, the reason why travel stories were plentiful in Argentina, and seeing the contrast, describes how a work can rewrite a literary tradition.

The winner receives prizes such as the publication of his essay, support to promote it in book fairs, a percentage of the printing so the author can promote it and an economic stimulus.

M. Francisco Gallardo informed that the publication "Andar de espaldas, la reescritura del realto del viaje decimonónico en El viajero del siglo de Andrés Neuman" will happen in December, and as the next year, he can promote it.

The national essay contest "Alfonso Reyes" is summoned by the Council for Culture and Arts from Nuevo León (CONARTE for its acronym in Spanish), with support from the National Council for Culture and Arts (CONACULTA for its acronym in Spanish).
