León, Gto., August 23, 2016.- With the objective to reveal the research done on contemporary social work, it was held the first edition of the seminar: "Rethink the social work, disciplinary possibilities."

In this edition, the experts of Social Sciences led by Dr. Jacobo Herrera and Dr. Aurora Zavala Caudillo, both professor-researchers at the University of Guanajuato (UG), analyzed the different scenarios in what the profession of Social Work has been immersed, as well as its evolution and the challenges that have to face to answer the social needs.

Dr. Jacobo Herrera Rodríguez, made a retrospective analysis of the prison social work in our country where he remarked the change of the assisting method for the current method of progressive training, where the prison systems seek the social reinsertion through the combination of the human treatment with models of rehabilitation with therapeutic character.

Equally, pointed out the opportunity areas the social worker has to favor the reinsertion of the inmate and make interventions considering five axes: work, training for work, education, sports and health. "We have to identify strengths and social-familiar risks and reinsert the inmate healthy and functional" as Dr. Jacobo pointed out.

Lastly, Dr. Aurora Zavala Caudillo and Dr. Jacobo Herrera, coordinators of the seminar thanked the attendants for their participation and recognized the effort done by the speakers from the Universidad Autónoma de México, Universidad Autónoma de Coahuila and Universidad de Ciudad Juárez.
