Guanajuato, Gto., August 24, 2016.- The outstanding Mexican director with a wide trajectory, Juan Carlos Lomónaco, will be the responsible to lead the baton of the Symphonic Orchestra of the University of Guanajuato (OSUG), in his next concert on Friday August 26th at the Teatro Principal at 20:30hrs.

Several times, Juan Carlos Lomónaco has participated as invited director with OSUG, the first time he led the orchestra was 18 years ago in 1998, since then he has kept a genuine relationship with the musicians, with the city and with the University of Guanajuato.

In an interview, the renowned director mentioned that next Friday's concert will be a beautiful event and very attractive to the listeners since they will play music from the French romanticism.

Lomónaco explained, "in first place we will play Pelléas et Melisande of Gabriel Fauré, which was conceived as incidental music who accompanied the theater play. In 1900 the composer makes the orchestral suite, which is what we'll be playing. It is a beautiful music based, precisely, in the drama of the Belgian writer Maurice Maeterlink."

Afterwards, they will have the special presence of the guest soloist from Hungary, Roland Stentpalli, who is also a composer of the second play for tuba and orchestra that OSUG will play: "Fantasía Carmen."

In this sense, the invited director commented that "Roland Stentpalli is one of the most important tuba players internationally, he is a turning point for this instrument since, he is composing very interesting music for the tuba."

"Fantasía Carmen is based in the famous play of Georges Bizet, who developed variations of the same, granting a unique stamp since he was responsible to make the arrangements and orchestration, just to mention some elements."

After the intermission, OSUG will play the "Symphony No. 2 in C major Roma" of the French composer Georges Bizet, the compose only wrote two symphonies during his life and began composing at the age of 17.

To finalize, the director spoke about his experience directing diverse orchestras from many parts of the world, "something which is very interesting in the world of music is that wherever we are, we speak a universal language when we play. Last week I was in Macedonia, this week I have the honor to play with OSUG and the next is Colombia. In all those places, the language is beautiful and it is the same: the music."
