
León, Gto., August 27, 2016.- Students from the University of Guanajuato Campus León from the educational programs of Science of Physical Activities and Health, Nursing and Midwifery, Diploma in Therapeutic Education in Diabetes received the visit of Dr. Betsy Rodríguez, who gave the conference: What con health professionals learn from salespeople?
Dr. Betsy is a certified master in nursing and educator in diabetes, deputy chief of the National Program of Education in Diabetes for the Latin population in United States and collaborator of the South American and the Caribbean region of the International Federation of Diabetes.
During her intervention, Dr. Rodríguez commented that the education in diabetes must be promoted, and to show the features that define the program, in such manner that it is an attractive offer for students.
She also highlighted that the formation of health specialists, doesn't consider marketing aspects. "The universities must extend their programs to keep forging better prepared students for the reality they live today, and continue in the path of global trend." She mentioned.
Equally, she pointed out that marketing and publicity, are important factor nowadays. In the case of the diabetes patients, the speaker commented the need to invest time, money, and technology and marketing to have control of their treatment and be updated in topic that impact their health.
She made a call to all the attending students to identify their public, their main objective, and determine a specific purpose and organization of the information to reach an audience and clarify the purpose they have in mind based in the "5 P" of marketing: product, price, promotion, place and one more she added: people; responsible for the development of the offer and demand.
To finalize, she pointed out that the health specialists must be innovative and creative every day, to start clearing the field in this area.
