
Guanajuato, Gto., August 31, 2016. According the commitment of the University of Guanajuato (UG) to attend the priority problems of the environment, there was a specific agreement signed with the State Institute of Attention to the Migrant from Guanajuato and their families (IMIG), which will allow to develop joint projects of social impact and integration of the Mexicans who live abroad.
On the matter, UG's General Rector, Dr. Luis Felipe Guerrero Agripino said that the Academy requires interinstitutional channels so the research products have a desirable impact in the community, so he celebrated the link with the state government to address the migrant subject.
The General Rector highlighted besides leadership from Dr. Ana Beatriz Vila Freyer, Professor of the Department of Cultural, Demographic and Politic Studies of Campus Celaya-Salvatierra, who insisted in the importance of working together with the institutions such as IMIG.
One of the first actions derived from this agreement will be the realization of the International Colloquium of "Human mobility, territory and Migratory policies," as informed by the General Director of the State's Institute of Attention to the Migrant of Guanajuato and their Families, Lic. Susana Guerra Vallejo.
In her intervention, Lic. Guerra reminded that the 46 cities of the state have an important migratory movement, which demands reflection of the economic, social and political impact of this phenomena. Hence, she thanked the support from the House of Studies, institution that –emphasized—has a great team of researchers.
The Rector of Campus Celaya-Salvatierra, Dr. Ma. Guadalupe Ojeda Vargas, congratulated all the involved in this interinstitutional effort, and wished success to all the projects derived from signing this agreement.
At the event was present the Director of Liaison from UG, Dr. Salvador Hernández Castro, and from IMIG, the General Coordinator, Lic. Ma. Concepción Montiel.
