León, Gto., September 1, 2016.- The University of Guanajuato (UG) is a comprehensive part of the Cultural Forum, the complex that celebrates 10 years of the foundation and is proprietary of a great infrastructure integrated by the Department of Cultural Studies of Campus León from UG, the Museum of Art and History of Guanajuato, the Theater of the Bicentennial, the Central Library of the State, the Walkway of Arts and the Auditorium Mateo Herrera.

The history of the Forum emerges as an idea of Ernesto Gómez Hernández, highlighted businessman who recognizes the precarious cultural infrastructure of the city of Leon, and he imagines a Magnus library. It then consolidates as a group of enthusiast leaders among them Roberto Plascencia Saldaña, Luis Rodríguez Tirado, Mariano González Leal and David González who follow up the project.

So, the state government invites the University of Guanajuato, same that presents a project of creation of the Department of Cultural Studies and the degree in Culture and Art, the first in its kind in America parting from 2006.

Currently, the Department of Cultural Studies actively works in the cultural area and specially in the professional formation of the negotiators in Art & Culture, this through the educational program it offers. So, from September 7 to 10 there will be a program called "10 years of encounters" integrated by 17 activities which will have place in diverse forums.

There will be several events that stand out the presence of Dr. Rebeca Monroy Nasr, who will offer the talk "History the women from photography: the 20's of the past century," in the Jorge Ibargüengoitia auditorium, at the lobby it will be the expo "Female vanguards: Photographs of the Gustavo Casasola Archive," and a jazz concert in charge of the group Obsidiana in the rest area of UG's facilities.

Besides there will be a protocol ceremony on Wednesday September 7 at 18:00 in the Auditorium Mateo Herrera which will be presided by the state governor, Miguel Márquez, the members of the Directors' Council of the Cultural Forum, federal and municipal authorities, Dr. Luis Felipe Guerrero Agripino; General Rector of the University of Guanajuato and Dr. Carlos Hidalgo Valadez, Rector of Campus León.
