Guanajuato, Gto., September 3, 2016. To recognize the work of the administrative personnel that works in the House of Studies, the Symphonic Orchestra of the University of Guanajuato (OSUG) offered a concert where they interpreted "The descent according Rembrandt," from the M.A. Ramón Montes de Oca, and the symphony No. 5 of Piotr Ilich Tchaikovsky.

This Friday September 2, at 13:00hrs, administrative workers of the University of Guanajuato made a pause in their labor to attend the Teatro Principal, where the General Rector, Dr. Luis Felipe Guerrero Agripino, gave a brief message where he expressed that the purpose of the concert was to provide an encounter with OSUG members, that through music they made everyone feel part of the big university family.

OSUG's Director, M.A. Roberto Beltrán Zavala, welcomed the attendants, to whom he explained the context of the chosen pieces for this presentation, which began with the "The descent according Rembrandt" (1991), play of stroing orchestra of M. Ramón Montes de Oca, who Director the School of Music from OSUG and a very close author to the university orchestra, to the House of Studies and townsfolk of Guanajuato.

He reminded that this year, there is the 10th death anniversary of M. Montes de Oca, hence, he revealed, that as an homage, the Program #4 of OSUG would be dedicated to his memory.

"The main dish" of the concert for the university workers was Symphony No. 5 in E minor, Op. 64, composed in 1888 by Ilich Tchaikovsky, who is interpreted with special mastery by OSUG's musicians, assured M. Beltrán while explaining the importance of the chosen piece and the composer.

About the event, UG's Pro Vost, Dr. Héctor Efraín Rodríguez de la Rosa, highlighted that it was organized to recognize the merit, the contribution and work of who has summed to the university project, to almost a year after the arrival of Dr. Agripino to the General Rectory.

Every person, every member of the Orchestra is part of an everything, which is the University of Guanajuato, the concert allows to remember "that we are one, and as a unit, we will continue working for our alma mater," he held.

The concert congregated personnel of distinct administrative areas that work in the four university campus and high schools.
