Guanajuato, Gto., September 6, 2016.- As part of the efforts of the University of Guanajuato (UG) to encourage the exchange of internationalization experiences and practices among the community, it was inaugurated the Forum and Expo of the Academic International Collaboration.
The event which will be held from September 6 to 8 in the Magnus spaces of Campus Guanajuato, will propitiate the interaction between the UG community with members of foreign institutions in collaboration with the Maximum House of Studies.
During the 3 days of expo, the youth will be able to know the information on the educational offer, the academic collaboration opportunities and the financing alternatives, this with the finality to contribute to their comprehensive and multicultural formation.
UG's General Rector, Dr. Luis Felipe Guerrero Agripino pointed out that the educational institutions must set the example of the institutional capability and possibility of students and professors to make these exchanges, which contribute to a comprehensive development to benefit humanity.

During the opening act, Dr. Guerrero Agripino granted a recognition for 36 years of collaboration with Laval University, Canada, which was handed by the Director of the International Relation Office of such institution, Dr. Richard Poulin, who thanked UG for the hospitality and said that these years are a sample of the fruitful relation between both universities.
Representing the Academic Secretary, Dr. José Luis Lucio Martínez, the Director of International Relations and Academic Collaboration, Dr. Sergio Antonio Silva Muñoz, mentioned that the University of Guanajuato has achieved an international position, which reflects on the 403 active agreements and nearly a thousand students that come and go in exchange every year. He also affirmed that they continue working to widen the international offer, such proof is the signing of 40 new agreements.

In an interview, the International Trade UG student, Melanie Dominique Gallardo Rodríguez, highlighted that UG is one of the institutions with more international offer, and expressed her interest to make an exchange with another university.
To the ceremony attended: The Rector of Campus Guanajuato, Dr. Teresita de Jesús Rendón Huerta; the General Consul of Japan in León, Mr. Yasuhisa Suzuki; representatives of institutions that UG has agreement with; as well as members of the university community.
