Guanajuato, Gto., September 7, 2016.- The University of Guanajuato (UG) reaffirms its commitment with the strengthening of art and culture as a tool for the comprehensive formation of the community, during the 10th anniversary of the Cultural Forum Guanajuato.

UG's General Rector, Dr. Luis Felipe Guerrero Agripino, exposed that art and culture represent an indispensable factor for the person's development; he pointed out that the Maximum House of Studies offers diverse academic programs oriented to these topics.

In addition, he held that UG will offer diverse artistic and cultural participation with the motive of the commemoration of the years of this complex, where he considered a great example of what democratization of culture should be, which must not be an additional element to the person, since the human being has and deserves the opportunity to contributes and benefit from the same.

In this space is found the Department of Cultural Studies from UG, the State Central Library Wigberto Jiménez, the Museum of Art and History of Guanajuato, the Bicentennial Theater, Mateo Herrera Auditorium, Walkway of Arts and several gardens.

The governor of Guanajuato, Lic. Miguel Márquez Márquez, thanked for the actions done by the University of Guanajuato towards the subject and said that the bet on education and culture is fundamental, since they are elements that really transcend and change people's life.

On his part, the General Director of the National Center of Arts, Lic. Ricardo Calderon Figueroa, expresses that the goal of the Department of Culture is to construct a better society that includes a more complete, sensible and empathic formation that nurtures from art and culture.

The municipal president of León, Lic. Héctor López Santillana, mentioned that it is not enough to transform the urban environment if you don't also provoke a change in the people. He assured that the Cultural Forum Guanajuato is a clear example of how to achieve the comprehensive formation of a society.

During the ceremony, the boy Kevin Mandujano, shared the story telling and then was the musical intervention in charge of the Symphonic Orchestra Silvestre Revueltas.
