Guanajuato, Gto., September 13, 2016.- On September 20 and 21 will be held at venue Belen, the activities of the University Environmental Fair organized by the Division of Engineering (DI) from Campus Guanajuato, where the speakers will dissert on current problems and solution proposals, besides making children and youth aware in the necessity to preserve the environment.

M.A. Edgar Humberto Vázquez Cruz, who is responsible for the program of Environmental Handling and Sustainability at DI and is part of the organizing committee, informed that part of the objectives of the University Environmental Fair, are to present prototypes and scientific research in environmental topics that propose sustainable solutions.

Particularly are going to be presented by all the university community, besides civil associations and other environmental groups that have come close to participate in this encounter, prototypes, science posters and solution proposals to current problems; but also there will be space for talks and conferences in relation to scientific-environmental topics.

He explained that the fair is for the public, but, particularly for students at the University of Guanajuato and other higher education institutions, as well as students from basic education, who will be offered workshops of recycled paper, creation and conservation of energy, water treatment, responsible use of materials, green spaces, among others.

M.A. Vázquez Cruz emphasized the social responsibility of the University of Guanajuato to impress respect for the environment, hence, the 2016 edition of the fair, has procured the environmental education for children and youth, they will even be attended by groups in the morning and the afternoon to who has noon shifts, because they will also invite middle schoolers through the basic educational system.

Likewise, the invitation is open, he said, to private companies and functionaries of the three levels of government, so they experience everything that is done at UG and promote a collaboration relationship.

Some of the confirmed attendees are: from the division of Life Sciences, the specialist Dr. Rogelio Costilla, who will offer a Master conference on bio-remediation of polluted sites; in addition of scholars from the Research Center at San Luis Potosí and doctors such as Vladimir Alonso, who will speak about the sustainability of the environment applied to technologies and innovation; and personnel from the Mexican Center of Renewable Energies.

At the opening ceremony next Tuesday 20, there will be a Master talk from the Director of the Institute of Ecology of the State, Dr. Juan Ángel Mejía Gómez, who also is a UG graduate, from the Division of Life Sciences.

The venue for the works, talks and workshops, will be the central patio of the Unit Belen of the Division of Engineering of Campus Guanajuato.
