Guanajuato, Gto., a 16 de septiembre de 2016.- The Folkloric Ballet of the University of Guanajuato (BAFUG) conquered with rhythms and different hues of Mexico to the attendants of the World Festival of Folk, held in the city of Trujillo, Peru.

M.A. Roberto Martínez Rocha, BAFUG's Director, mentioned that for this time, the ballet program was composed by redova polkas from the state of Nuevo León; sonnets of sotavento of the state of Veracruz, from the state of Aguascalientes and mainly the state of Guanajuato with sonnets and jarabes.

"The response of the Peruvian people was excellent and we proved that Mexican are fond of in Peru," expressed M.A. Martinez Rocha at the same time he thanked the University of Trujillo for the invitation to participate in the cultural event.

To this festival attended 12 countries, just to mention some: Ukraine, Paraguay, Colombia, Uruguay, Peru, Ireland, among others. From BAFUG traveled 22 dancers, 6 musicians, a logistic support person and their director.

The presentations were made in the city of Trujillo, Huamachuco town of the mountain and Jaén in the jungle, localities that were the scenario for the sample of culture in the rhythm of folklore.

One of the results from the tour, was the meeting held by BAFUG's director with the directors of the University of Chile, Colombia and Peru, from where several projects emerged for the future, such as an exchange of folkloric ballets with other universities in the world.

This exchange project will through a University Festival in the City of Guanajuato, which not only will be an artistic exchange but an academic and cultural one, where the artists of these foreign universities could meet UG.

During the interview, M.A. Martínez Rocha made the invitation for the next presentation in the International Festival Cervantino on October 19th in the plaza of the Alhóndiga de Granaditas.

For this edition of the FIC, and for the first time, they will present the program "Dances, the feet that stomp the ground," same that will integrate prehispanic, warrior, religious, conquer and mixed dances.
