Guanajuato, Gto., September 15, 2016.- The effort in the great labor of fusing and rescuing the traditions of Mexico, have taken the Folkloric Ballet of the University of Guanajuato (BAFUG) to be nominated for the Lunas of the Auditorio 2016 in the category Traditional Dance.

With 20 years in front of the artistic group, M.A. Roberto Martínez Rocha, BAFUG's Director, recognized the students who collaborate in the ballet and the support from their families, as well as the work team, for their arduous and constant dedication.

In an interview, Martinez Rocha revealed that, with no doubt, it is a whole surprise that BAFUG shares this nomination with great groups such as the Folkloric Ballet of Mexico of Amalia Hernández; Folkloric Ballet of the University of Colima; Folkloric Dance Company Nahucalli; Forever Tango; Magical parties of Mexico; and Shen Yun Performing Arts.

It will be on October 26th in Mexico City, when the nominees will gather in the National Auditorium to know the final results of this award.

At the web page www.lunasauditorio.com.mx mention that: "with the result from the survey done by "Consulta Mitofsky" and the opinion of a group of specialists integrated by more than 200 professionals related with art and entertainment, where promoters, producers, sponsors and communicators, participate; they reach a final decision on who will be deserving the Luna."

The award for which BAFUG is competing, is a crystal replica of the sculpture La Luna, created by Juan Soriano who is a plastic artist; it is a symbol of pride if Mexico City.
