León, Gto., September 15, 2016.- The University of Guanajuato Campus Leon joins the cultural and academic activities of the XLIV Festival Internacional Cervantino (FIC), the appointment will be on the venue Forum of the Campus, which in collaboration with the Cultural Forum Guanajuato will hold great quality artistic events. With UG's participation the cultural offer will widen in the city of Leon during the 22 days of the event.

It is worth mentioning that the habitual Movie Tuesday incorporates to the programming of a movie cycle to remember Jorge Pantoja Merino, who passed away last April this year, great critic and lover of the seventh art. All these functions will be programmed at 20:00hrs at the terrace of the building of cultural studies, also the Campus will hold a talk with the Spanish writer Elena Medel next October 19th.

The program of the XLIV edition of the FIC in Leon was presented at a press conference where outstanding personalities were present such as the major of the city, Lic. Héctor López Santillana, architect Arturo Joel Padilla, Director of the Cultural Forum; José Grimaldo Colmenero, Director of the Institute of Guanajuato for disabled people (INGUDIS); Carlos María Flores Rivera, Director of the Institute of Culture of Leon (ICL); Jorge Volpi, outstanding writer and General Director of FIC; Gloria Magaly Cano de la Fuente, Director of Tourism of the city of Leon and Lic. Laura Lozano Fuentes, Coordinator of Liaison at Campus Leon, who assisted representing Dr. Carlos Hidalgo Valadez, Rector of Campus.
