Guanajuato, Gto., September 16, 2016.- "When I decide to do stupid things, I don't allow anyone to stop me," sentences the minimal poem "Taruspidez," chosen as the motto of the XI edition of the National Colloquium Efrain Huerta of Language and Literature which will be held from September 19 to 24, in different venues of the city of Guanajuato.

The program includes diverse activities, among which stand out, besides the discussion tables, five master conferences, one of which was established this year as an homage to M.A. Luis Palacios, who reunites to the honorable conference that has the name of the M.A. Ismael Rodríguez, both retired professors from the Department of Languages from the University of Guanajuato, and appreciated by the student community.

There will also be the seminar "Verse by verse, and trope to meter: read the metric and tropology," taught by Dr. Osmar Sánchez Aguilera, of Tecnológico de Monterrey Campus Mexico City; a linguistics panel, which will commemorate 100 years of the publication of the Course in General Linguistics, of Ferdinand de Saussure; and a movie projection.

The Cursed Journeys and the National Encounter "Efrén Hernández" of Literary Creation and Edition

Andrea Flores Moreno, student from the degree in Spanish Letters, who is part of the organizing committee, commented in an interview that this colloquium's edition will present some novelties on the matter regarding previous editions; one of the main is that the Colloquium will alternate the activity days with the Cursed Journeys, event that emerged in this framework in 2015, to allow students and public to have a chance to attend both forums.

The II Cursed Journeys, which will have the motto the "Horror," will be held on September 20, 22 and 24, and will move around two outstanding authors in the genre: Edgar Allan Poe and H.P. Lovecraft.

Likewise, from September 19 to 21, it will be held the 4th National Encounter "Efrén Hernandez" of Literary Creation and Edition, which pretends to be a space for the exchange of texts and experiences in the area of literary creation and edition. This year the summon was open for public and not only college students; in addition, the reading tables will include the participation of guest creators and editors, who will have the hast to encourage the discussion between the attending audience on topics close to own literary creation, the challenges of the professional writer and the editorial labor, more like a chatter.

A renewed colloquium, without losing the origin

Despite these changes, the organizers and members of Society of Students of Spanish Letters have clear that the spirit of the Colloquium continues to be the same as 11 years ago: an organized gathering by young students, particularly from Social Sciences and Humanities of Campus Guanajuato, with the objective to create communication spaces with other members of the student community of the own University of Guanajuato and other universities of the country.

"We seek that despite the years, the colloquium doesn't turn stiff, nor so institutional, because at the end, it is a colloquium of students. And we want it to be an space for dialogue, for the discussion, to expose ideas," concluded Andrea Flores, whilst at the same time invited the public to assist the activities that will have place in the distinct venues.
