Guanajuato, Gto., Septiembre 19, 2016. The University of Guanajuato (UG) formalized the collaboration liaisons that it has with the city of San Luis de la Paz. Through an agreement, they established diverse action that will allow to attend needs in diverse areas such as security, transport, infrastructure and diffusion of culture.

The General Rector, Dr. Luis Felipe Guerrero Agripino, mentioned that for the House of Studies it is fundamental to strengthen the collaboration with the municipal governments to improve and instrument public policies, above all in places where there are university venues, such is the case of San Luis de la Paz, where there is a high school.

Regarding security, the agreement established that they'll seek strategies of prevention, self-protection, self-care and encourage to complaint among the student community, as well as the reinforcement of vigilance, exchange of information and protocols of action and training.

The General Rector declared that –from the academic part—they seek to support in the designing of public policies that influence in the university community's safety and preventive strategies, and on the other hand, contribute in projects that influence in the development of the city.

In the area of social participation, the University of Guanajuato and the government of San Luis de la Paz will work together in actions and services that contribute a harmonic coexistence among the communities and society.

In transportation, they'll focus in the supervision and definition of routes that address the students effectively, to give a better service and respect the preferential fees, explained the Attorney General from UG, M.A. Alejandro Murillo de la Rosa.

In addition, it was agreed that the city supports with signs to locate dependencies and university entities, as well as the services offered to the high school community.

The agreement includes the diffusion of activities and cultural events, and, according the expressed by the General Rector, constitutes a parting point, since it pretends that the joint actions overcome the established in the agreement of collaboration.

At the event, the municipal President of San Luis de la Paz, Prof. Guillermo Rodríguez Contreras, recognized in UG a valuable support to detonate the development of the city and thanked authorities of the House of Studies for their interest to work together.

From the municipal government, attended the signing the secretary of the city hall, engineer Francisco Flores Solano and the Syndicate, Lic. Laura Luz Calzada Guerrero.

As representatives of the University of Guanajuato, were present the Secretary of Management and Development, M.A. Jorge Alberto Romero Hidalgo; the Director of Infrastructure and University Services, M.A. Eloy Juárez Sandoval, and the chief of Department of Safety, Eng. Raúl Morales Aguilar.
