Guanajuato, Gto., September 21, 2016.- With the objective to promote a comprehensive formation that contributes to the construction of a more just, free and democratic society, the University of Guanajuato (UG) and the Electoral Institute of the State of Guanajuato (IEEG), signed a collaboration agreement.

Such agreement implies the design, implementation, execution and development of projects and programs related with lending a professional social service. With it, they seek that these joint actions contribute to the comprehensive formation of the students by acquiring adequate skills to their profile, to the development of civic values and the encouragement of a culture of responsibility, solidarity and respect.

UG's General Rector, Dr. Luis Felipe Guerrero Agripino, pointed out the importance of the social service, which is a way to address the commitment to reattribute to the society to which the university is owed.

He added that this link with a promoter organism of the democracy, is an opportunity through which, the Maximum House of Studies, reaffirms its status of autonomous public institution but not self-sufficient, since it is necessary to establish collaboration links to fulfill common objectives.

The President Councilman of IEEG, Lic. Mauricio Guzmán Yáñez, mentioned that the institute that presides will open the doors so the students know the electoral subject from the practice. He added that they seek to invite the young to be interested in the subject, so they start forming on it.

On his part, the Executive Secretary of the Institute, M.A. Juan Carlos Cano Martínez, pointed out that, with this agreement, they pretend for the college students top lend a professional social service, to be the immediate source of recruiting and selection of personnel in the electoral process 2017-2018.

In addition, the fulfillment of the professional social service will be until 480 hours per student, attending the scheduled activities, as well as UG's study plans.

Also attended; UG's Director of Liaison, Dr. Salvador Hernández Castro; UG's Director of Communication and Liaison, M.A. Margarita Arenas Guzmán; personnel of the Electoral Institute of the State of Guanajuato and students from both universities.
