León, Gto., September 21, 2016.- With the intention to offer a general panorama of the elders in matter of social and economic wellbeing, there was the conference: "Ecology of poverty," given by Dr. María Montero-López Lena, from the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM).

The talk was part of the activities of the Second Colloquium Culture, Environment, Wellbeing organized by the academic bodies: "Subject and Context," and "Basic processes and individual development," from the Department of Psychology of Campus Leon of the University of Guanajuato.

Dr. Montero-López Lena spoke about the challenges the elders face today and different types of shortage or poverty from where they are subject as a vulnerable group.

"We are eroding our social capital. You always say that Mexico is a multi-cultural country, food poverty erodes our cultural resources," indicated the scholar during her conference, at the same time she invited all the students to use their knowledge and preparation in pro to boos policies and changes with a favorable impact on society.

On the same way, Dr. Maria Montero-López led the workshop "Strategies to theorize in Psychology" where professors and students from the postgraduate participated. Likewise, Dr. Edgar Alonso Angulo Rosas from the University of Querétaro gave the workshop "Perspectives, challenges, and interventions facing drug consumption. From the individual freedom to psychological doing."

The activities will continue until September 23rd and will end with the conference "Environmental Psychology and the study of public green spaces" by Dr. Eric Orlando Jiménez Rosas de la UNAM.
