León, Gto.- September 23, 2016.- With the purpose to the present the work done by the researchers of Campus Leon from the University of Guanajuato (UG), there was the VIII Multidisciplinary Colloquium in the Division of Social Science and Humanities venue San Carlos.
The responsible to inaugurate such journey were Dr. Luxana Reynaga Ornelas, Academic Secretary, who attended representing Dr. Carlos Hidalgo Valadez, Rector of Campus Leon, and M.A. César Armando Castellano Pérez, Coordinator of Support for Research and Postgraduate, who commented that "one of the important roles of the university is generating knowledge, so the students are the direct receivers and in some way, they stimulate them to take initiative to generate it."
The activities began with the conference "Implicit evaluations of teen pregnancy" given by Dr. Fredi Correa Romero. Such talk, was about the dichotomy presented in the youth regarding the prevention of early mother and fatherhood, and the use of preservatives; revealing results that help understand the numbers that the country has in this area today.
Dr. Danahe Marmolejo Correa presented the results from her research in the area of alternative energies production, specifically, bio-alcohols, the latter as part of his talk "Global energetic analysis and the second law applied to the production of biofuels with CO2 capture." In such exposition, the students discovered the progress that have achieved in Mexico in matter of production of this alternate energy sources.
Dr. Alejandro Klein exposed a view on elders, contemporary men and the way their role as patriarchs has mutated as a result from the changes in se3veral levels (social, economic). His conference titled "Understanding the contemporary dynamics of grandparents," offered a historical vision on the manner this family figure has been transforming until reaching what it is today.
Dr. Daniela Beatriz Muñoz López also exposed her work related to the wellbeing of the elders with her talk "Conditions that influence in the quality of life from the elders that live in Guanajuato," where she presented the progress made with old people from different places and diverse demographic groups.
Dr. Elia Lara Lona showed the progress done by UG in collaboration with the State System of Family's Comprehensive Development (DIF) in her talk "Ethical aspects of the public policies in health: aging and preventable deaths."
Dr. Rubén Ramírez was in charge of the conference "Cultural Dialography parting from the migration phenomena in Guanajuato", work where he puts on the table the role of the researcher in the work field and reflects on the methods that help make ethnographies from a posture that prioritizes the objectivity.
On his part, Dr. Alejandro Mercado spoke to the attendants about the book "Culture of Heritage", work done in collaboration with professors-researchers of the Department of Cultural Studies. In matter of Physics, Dr. Marco Reyes Santos showed the collaboration he maintains with international laboratories to research "The dark side of matter and energy I."
Human health was also a topic in a couple of conferences, the first in charge of Dr. Victor Hugo Hernández with the talk "Study of Hearing Physiology in a model of neurodegenerative demyelinating disease", that helped comprehend on the origin and evolution of diverse illnesses, some as bad as multiple sclerosis.
Dr. Octavio Jiménez Garza concluded, with the talk "Epigenetic brand: detected modifications in the cell's DNA", where he exposed about the consequences for health, the exposition to diverse noxious substances in work places, specifically, those associated with cancer.
