Salamanca, Gto., September 26, 2016.- In its 4th anniversary, the Mexican Center of Renewable Energies, Civil Society (CEMERSC) reaffirmed its commitment to encourage the renewable energies and the energetic efficiency in the center of the country, by signing a collaboration agreement with the National Commission of Efficient Use of Energy (CONUEE).
The agreement was subscribed between Dr. Jesús Martínez Patiño, director of CEMERSC and engineer Odón de Buen Rodríguez, CONUEE's Director; to work in divulgation projects in matter of energy saving. CONUEE has alliances with the private industry and international governments interested in supporting the diffusion of existing norms in energetic matter.
CEMERSC was constituted in November 16, 2011 as a result from the alliance between the Government of the State, the University of Guanajuato and the Municipal Presidency of Salamanca. For what the year has advanced, the center works in several lines such as the elaboration of environmental projects, projects of energetic efficiency, projects of innovation and liaison, applied technological projects, of photovoltaic energy, educational projects, of communication, and has subscribed several collaboration agreements with other institutions.
The Academic Secretary of the University of Guanajuato, Dr. José Luis Lucio Martínez, representing the General Rector, Dr. Luis Felipe Guerrero Agripino, highlighted that this union academy-government, together with the business sector, has the objective to incorporate innovation and knowledge in the energetic sector, and develop new activities and projects of social and economic projects.
"Among the roles the University has to do in society, it is to influence on the definition and selection of the problems of the scientific agenda, it means, orient the production of knowledge, articulate the relation between technique, science and society, making control and social appropriation of knowledge possible," he said.
The 4th Anniversary of CEMERSC was presided by the Secretary of Innovation, Science and Higher Education, Dr. Arturo Lara López; the Municipal President of Salamanca, Eng. Antonio Arredondo Muñoz, Dr. José Luis Lucio Martínez, UG's Academic Secretary and Eng. Odón de Buen Rodríguez, CONUEE's Director.
CEMERSC besides being a technological center, it pretends to implant an entrepreneur spirit in the students to integrate their work group, since it works based on a philosophy of support to the technological innovation and the formation of young entrepreneurs that in a future can start their own business.
A proof of it was the enterprise Polybion inaugurated yesterday within CEMERSC, which produces Fungicel, a biodegradable Styrofoam based of agricultural waste such as corn straw, wheat or barley, or nutshells, molded to make packing products, packing or insulating, with better performance and less energetic consumption than Styrofoam. This company is led by the brothers Alexis and Axel Gómez Ortizoga, two young entrepreneurs that received support from Agrobiotec and the National Council of Science and Technology of Guanajuato.
