Guanajuato, Gto., September 26, 2016.- With the objective to divulge and encourage a culture of prevention among students from the High School College (ENMS) of Guanajuato, there was an informational workshop on unplanned pregnancy in youth.
The workshop was done in the World Day for Unplanned Teen Pregnancy, as part of the actions of the Institutional Program of Gender Equality (PIIG) of the University of Guanajuato (UG) to propitiate spaces of formation and training from professionals in the topic.
The workshop had around 30 young students and was given by the group REDefine Leon, a network of young leaders belonging to the Institute of Leadership Simone de Beauvoir, which promotes and defends the sexual and reproductive rights in 13 states in the country.
In an interview, the coordinator of the PIIG, M. A. Abraham Serrato Guzmán, mentioned that the numbers regarding the topic have increased in the last years and highlighted that despite living in the information era, this is multiple and not everything is true.
Likewise, expressed the importance the encouragement UG has given through PIIG to prevent, attend and eradicate diverse problems that haunt society, as well as to generate a space where men and women can form equally.
Connie Flores and Cristian Frausto, members of REDefine Leon, gave such workshop, in which they displayed a series of videos, information and made dynamics to sensitize the youth on the topic.
