
To the activity, responsibles from FAO in Mexico, federal representatives from the Department of Health, experts from SAGARPA and scholars from Mexico and foreigners will join.
Celaya. Gto., September 27, 2016.- Within activities of the World's Day of Nourishment, Campus Celaya-Salvatierra will hold the Sixth National Forum of "Food and Nourishment Safety" from October 5th to 7th, event with the objective to reveal the trends in topics related with food and nourishment safety in the international level.
According the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), the weather is changing, hence, food and agriculture, therefore, they have extended an invitation to grow food in a sustainable fashion and calls all the countries to address food and agriculture in their plans of actions and increase their investment in the rural development.
In the forum's sixth edition they will address topics of health, agriculture and public policies related to food and nourishment safety, therefore, they have prepared conferences, workshops, discussion tables, the inauguration of the "Network of observatories of the state of Guanajuato, Chiapas, Colima and Veracruz" and as pre-congress activities there will be workshops for the student community.
The main conference will be in charge of Dr. Fernando Soto, who is a FAO representative in our country; Dr. Rebeca Monroy Torres, one of the organizers and Editor in Chief of the magazine of scientific divulgation of Environmental Nourishing and Food Safety (REDICINAySA), will speak on the "Progress and challenges of research in nourishment" and M.A. Marcela Leal, guest professor from the Argentinian University of Maimónides will offer the talk "Strategies to diminish food waste."
In two work tables, they will debate on "The government programs and their impact of food safety" as well as the "Better use of agro-industrial waste," while for the second day, Dr. Jairo Bejarano Roncancio, from the National University of Colombia, will give conference; Dr. Zaira Valderrama Álvarez, responsible of the inter-sector policies in matter of the Federal Department of Health will offer the conference "Progress of the national strategy agains obesity" and will ´present the program of diet and physical activity, work that emerges from the National Plan of Development 2013-2018.
Dr. Soledad Evangelista Medina from the National Institute of Medical Sciences and Nutrition Salvador Zubirán (INNCMSZ) will offer the conference "Nutrition of the patient with nephropathy," engineer Germán Zermeño, District Chief of Rural Development in Leon of Department of Agriculture, Livestock, Rural Development, Fishing and Food, will speak about "The nutritionist and the link with the field and agriculture: an under explored area" and Dr. Carlos Núñez Colín professor of Campus Celaya-Salvatierra, will offer the conference "Sub-used cultures."
This activity is organized together by Dr. Silvia del Carmen Delgado Sandoval, Dr. Nicolás Padilla Raygoza and M.A. María del Rosario Tolentino Ferrel, academics from the degree in Nutrition of the Division of Health Sciences and Engineering of Campus Celaya-Salvatierra and by the Laboratory of Environmental Nutrition and Food Safety of Campus Leon (LANAySA), and the University Observatory of Food Safety of the State of Guanajuato A.C. (OUSANEG), Dr. Rebeca Monroy Torres.
