Irapuato, Gto., October 4, 2016.- An alliance between the University of Guanajuato and the Municipal Institute of Culture, Art and Recreation of Irapuato (IMCAR), it will be held for the first time, a Produce Show from the cities in the state's northeast.
The cities will be Santa Catarina, Doctor Mora, Xichú, Victoria and Tierra Blanca. They will present their history, handcrafts, gastronomy and culture this October 6&7 at the House of Culture of Irapuato.
This was announced by the Director of the Division of Life Sciences (DICIVA) of the University of Guanajuato, Dr. Eduardo Salazar Solís and IMCAR's Director, Federico Vargas Somoza.
This Thursday and Friday there will be conferences from the chroniclers and historians of those cities, who will speak about the identity and culture of their cities, as well as the ceremonial sites of the forefathers of Sierra Gorda.
The inauguration will be on Thursday October 6 at 10:00hrs at the House of Culture, with the ribbon cut of the show of Mexican cactus paintings in danger of extinction.
At this enclosure's patio, each city will exhibit samples of basketry, loom working, balloons, traditional medicine and herbalism, gastronomy of the region, typical dressing and much more.
UG and IMCAR invite all the public to know the cultural diversity of the northeast, zone where UG is present with the Interdisciplinary Center to offer quality education to the youth in the region which is less industrialized and a population that maintains languages and indigenous traditions.
In the presentation of the program of the First Produce Show of the Northeast, also participated: The Coordinator of the Interdisciplinary Center of the Northeast, in Tierra Blanca, Ing. Alfredo Mozqueda Córdova; the Director of the House of Culture of Tierra Blanca, Benito Hernández García; the chronicler of Doctor Mora, Marcos Valencia Espino; the historian of the city of Tierra Blanca, León Ramírez García and the Senior Officer of Santa Catarina, Marcelino Montes Barrera.
