León, Gto., October 4, 2016.- With the objective to approach children and interest them on science at an early age in the areas of chemistry and physics, the theater group ICA PAQUILIZTLI from the Division of Sciences and Engineering (DCI) presented the play titled "El Mundo de Alicia" (Alice's world) as part of the program of the XXXI National Encounter of Scientific Divulgation celebrated in the venue Forum of Campus Leon.
Taking as reference the popular story of Lewis Carroll; the director of the play and responsible of the project, Dr. Ma. Isabel Delgadillo Cano, professor-researcher at the same division, manages to gather knowledges of distinct scientific areas with a funny stage that includes live music and illustrative experiments for the children.
Everything is surrounded by several comic moments by the classical characters, such as the Queen, a caterpillar with ability for chemistry and of course the cat, defender and enthusiast of knowledge and sciences.
"We have already done a work called "The Magic of Science," at the National Congress of Physics and it occurred to me the idea to mount another stage in this congress. There were new people, students, people that made music and I asked them if they wanted to participate and they said yes" commented Dr. Delgadillo on the issue.
She added that it also has the finality of showing the different degrees the division has, "the idea was also to do a little of promotion. We have the degrees on Physics, Physical Engineering and Chemistry; as well as Biomedical Engineering".
It is worth to mention that, in response of this commitment with university extension, the part of the theoretical support in charge of Dr. Ma. Isabel in the area of physics and Dr. Leonardo Álvarez responsible pf the chemistry part, also researcher at DCI.
Another presentation is considered for Thursday at 16:00hrs in the Jorge Ibargüengoitia Auditorium of the venue Forum, in addition of the possibility to take this play to cities where the University is present, such as orphanages, resting homes and places where the community can enjoy these efforts that seek to form and inform.
