León Gto., October 4, 2016.- With the finality to highlight the interest the University of Guanajuato has to encourage the sport competitions to form multidisciplinary and engaged students in both the academic and sport ambience, there was the trophy ceremony to the winning students, in the internal tournaments that were held at Campus Leon of the University of Guanajuato.

In the same event, they delivered the uniforms to the students who will represent the Campus in the next sport competitions.

Representing the General Rector of the University, Dr. Luis Felipe Guerrero Agripino, the Director of Student Development, M.A. José Osvaldo Chávez Rodríguez, highlighted that delivering a sport attire, is a significant event for all the members of the university community since the students must be feel proud and worthy to use the colors of the Maximum House of Studies.

On his part, the Rector of Campus Leon, Dr. Carlos Hidalgo Valadez; highlighted the importance it has for the own University of Guanajuato, to encourage the comprehensive development of the student, while being in relevant sport events that from the quality of the human being.

113 students were awarded with trophies and sport uniforms from which 64 are men and 49 are women. At the same time, the students who were continuously participating in sport classes such as weightlifting, spinning and rhythm-aerobic activities during the term Jan-Jun 2016 were also recognized. To close the event, it was presented for the first time the cheerleader team composed by student of the campus, recently created with the purpose to accompany and support the sport teams.

Also present were: The Academic Secretary of Campus Leon, Dr. Luxana Reynaga Ornelas; the Academic Secretary of the Division of Social Sciences and Humanities, Dr. Demetrio Feria Arroyo; the Academic Secretary of the Division of Health Sciences, M.A. Cipriana Caudillo Cisneros and Lic. Benjamín Vidaurri Aréchiga, Coordinator of Physical Culture and Sports at UG.
