Guanajuato, Gto., October 5, 2016.- Infrastructure, academic, educational offer and divulgation projects among others, are in what the Division of Economic-Administrative Sciences (DCEA) of Campus Guanajuato will work on; under the direction of Dr. Claudia Susana Gómez López, who was assigned in such position for the 2016-2020 period.

In an interview, Dr. Gómez López, revealed that there are many projects for the Division, together with Campus Guanajuato and General Rectory, "we want to work as a team and in a solidary fashion to achieve results", she said, and within there are a lot of academic projects, for example, increase the title modalities.

The increment in the index of title, which today is low, she recognized, is a gap that must be covered in the next years, as well as rising the enrollment, the educational offer, and of course, diminish the desertion of students and the academic capability.

She informed that today, DCEA's enrollment is approximately 3,200 students, from degrees, postgraduates and extension, which makes it the largest at UG, hence it is the increment is a challenge.

A large item that will be sought to explore in the next years, she said, is the education by distance: it will be sought with the wallet of continuous education, if for example, there is a program that lasts 12 modules, why not teach two or three by distance.

"Today with the information technologies which we have updated our professors, can perfectly design a course and make it this way and have these strategies and increase the enrollment, where the growth cannot be exponential, but it's a bet we have," she indicated.

As for the increment in the percentage of titles, she revealed that three modalities can be implemented: now that the educational model allows it, you could write a report or practicum report; another way would be the disciplinary diploma and a third would be with two or three certification, which the student could get the title from, be that from businesses, teachers or both, which will have more competencies in the exercise of the labor life.

She explained that for the practicum, the educational model considers 700 hours of the student in a business or institution, which could elaborate a memory, a report and this same product be that will have the possibility of getting the title; while the diploma, according with the academic institute, it has a 100hr minimum, so the student could enroll in some of the diplomas that are offered at DCEA or outside, as defined by the Divisional Council.

She reminded that the PLADI has the institutional goal for 2020 is a 60% of titles and if the gap is too large, we must work to close it; for that there is a well formed team and engaged in the division, and the academic body will be reinforced with 10 positions for new professors.

Dr. Claudia Susana Gómez López is an Economy Graduate (1994) and Master in Economy and Management of Technological Change (1997) by the Universidad Autónoma Metropolitana, Unit Xochimilco. Likewise, she is Doctor in Quantitative Economy and Economic Analysis (2008) by the Universidad Complutense of Madrid.

On the matter she commented: "I didn't have the opportunity to study at the University of Guanajuato, but since 1997 it opened the doors for me and every day has given me the opportunity to grow and contribute. It is my house, to her I owe and for her I work and above all for the students".
