Guanajuato, Gto., October 6, 2016.- With the objective to establish bond of social co-responsibility and application of the academic knowledge, there was a signing of the General Agreement of Collaboration between the University of Guanajuato (UG) and the Universidad De La Salle Bajío at the city of León.

This agreement stipulates that both universities will forge their efforts to develop strategies and activities in topics related with renewable energies, industry, tourism and social innovation, mainly.

The agreement, which will have a two-year validity, also established that the students and professors at both universities can use the facilities and production of their peer and propitiate the diffusion and participation of forums, seminars, workshops, courses, conferences and congresses.

On the issue, UG's General Rector, Dr. Luis Felipe Guerrero Agripino, affirmed that the challenges that society faces today acknowledge the frontiers between the universities, since what matters are the demands and what it needs is to attend the problems.

He added that currently our maximum house of studies has an enrollment of 985 full-time professors, as well as 11 programs of competence, which must be used to the maximum and their knowledge to influence society.

On his part, M.A. Andrés Govela Gutiérrez, Rector of the Universidad De La Salle Bajío, recognized that even the campus under his charge has 48 years of providing service, they had the support and collaboration of the University of Guanajuato.

Finally, he pointed that the objective of this agreement is the cooperation between the institutions with the purpose to make the activities of encouragement and development of society dynamic in matter of innovation, knowledge management, technological and business development looking for a better competitiveness. In addition, the adequate diffusion will be sought for the projects to be in the reach of society.
