Guanajuato, Gto., October 6, 2016.- To celebrate the graduation of the first generation of the degree in Scenic Arts, in addition of commemorating the fourth centennial of the death of Miguel de Cervantes Saavedra, students and professors at Campus Guanajuato will present in the XLIV FIC the play "Everything can be... An homage to Miguel de Cervantes Saavedra," under the direction of Horacio Almada Anderson.
Members of the Department of Music from the Division of Architecture, Art and Design (DAAD) participated. More than 100 people –among actors, musicians, singers and dancers—were involved in a show that gathered diverse texts –from different time and genre—of Miguel de Cervantes Saavedra, such as the entertainment "The judge of divorce" (1615), the preliminaries of the exemplary novels (1613), fragments of "Los trabajos de Persiles y Sigismunda" (1617), some passages of Quijote (1605-1615) and the comedy Pedro de Urdemalasa (1615), accompanied by music, interpreted and sung live.
"It is a very complex montage, but very enriching," comments in an interview M.A. David Eudave, who advises the students in the acting part who participate in the play. In his opinion, the montage has a historical importance, for so many reasons.
First, because the Cervantine calling of Guanajuato we see expressed in the FIC, the Cervantine Colloquium, holding the name of Cervantine Capital of America, etcetera, comes theater, from the entertainment that began representing in the city for more than 60 years and were linked to the creation of a theater career in the University of Guanajuato coordinated by M. Ruelas, pointed out M. Eudave.
In the second place –he adds—because in the degree of Scenic Arts hasn't been done a production of this size, without a doubt, sets a milestone for the Department and for the theater tradition so deep-rooted in the University of Guanajuato and the city.
M.A. Sylvia Salomón, responsible of the choreography of one of the parts of the play, and who coordinates a set of 15 dances, to students of degree in Scenic Arts, highlights the importance it has for the young college students to participate in a cultural forum of international relevance such as the FIC.
"The expectation is very good. The kids have worked very good and they already waiting for the premier. I think it is a great opportunity for the students who graduate and a great motivation for the next generations. It will be very motivating for everyone."
"Everything can be... An homage to Miguel de Cervantes Saavedra" will be presented from October 10 to 14, at 20:00hrs, in the Mexiamora Plaza. It is a show for all audiences. Free entrance.
