
León, Gto., October 6, 2016.- With the objective of materializing activities in favor of promoting Human Rights, the Division of Social Sciences and Humanities of Campus Leon from the University of Guanajuato (UG) made a strategic alliance with the Center of Promotion of Human Rights of Children and Teenagers of Guanajuato, "NIMA." This collaboration was made within the seminar Change and Emerging Social Dynamics in Latin America.
This institutional accompaniment concreted with the conference "Psychosocial impact of the serious violations of Human Rights in Mexico: How to attend the victims? Whose responsible is M.A. Alejandra González Marín, an international expert in the topic.
In this event the students had the opportunity to debate on which are the psychosocial effects of the violations of human rights in Mexico and which are the alternatives of intervention for students of Social Sciences, including the psychosocial expertise.
González Marín spoke to the audience about the psychosocial focus she uses, which includes a comprehensive vision of the case. She highlighted that not only she uses psychology to provide necessary support to the victim, but she also considers such as origin, age and gender to have a wider and fuller panorama.
She pointed out that "the attention must not be limited to psychological ambiance of mental health, but analyze and consider the social context where violence occurs and from there, use tools to face the issues in a better way that the facts."
The speaker emphasized that the issue of violation to the Human Rights in our country collects a great importance in the last decade, where the abuses of the state have peaked and normalized.
This is not unseen for the organisms that procure this rights in the continent and manifested that it hasn't been few the times where the UN of the Inter American Court of Human Rights (CoIDH) have condemned the proceeding of policies and national army, accused of systemic violations against the citizens, forcing them to recognize their responsibility for the acts and pay compensations that only repair an economic damage, but doesn't consider the moral damage to which the victim was exposed to, she pointed out.
At the end of the conference, there was a Q&A session with the students, who contributed with their vision on this social problem.
