León, Gto., October 8, 2016.- Within the celebration of the 30th anniversary of the Physics Institute of the University of Guanajuato (IFUG), today Division of Science and Engineering of Campus Leon from the University of Guanajuato (UG), were held a series of activities where academic talks, posters and discussion tables stand out on the most relevant topics in the area of Physics and Engineering.

The place for the encounter was the auditorium at the Division, where the Emeritus researcher, Dr. Octavio Obregón Díaz was responsible for narrating the origins of the Institute of Physics until today, highlighting the personnel that has left a footprint in the institution.

Also present was Dr. José Luis Lucio Martínez, UG's Academic Secretary, representing UG's General Rector, Dr. Luis Felipe Guerrero Agripino.

Dr. Lucio Martínez was director of the then Institute of Physics and ex-Rector of Campus Leon from UG. In the event, he spoke to the university community with a talk titled "Hadron spectroscopy and Physics beyond the standard model."

During the ceremony where students, professors and administrative personnel from the Division were present, young Elba Citlali Vázquez Rentería, student of the 5th semester of Sustainable Chemical Engineering expressed in an interview that "DCI is an excellent opportunity of development not only human but professional, professors and academic plans are excellent, since they have to project in the future, the professors provide better tools to achieve so."

Equally, Dr. Nana Geraldine Cabo Bizet, researcher-professor of the Department of Physics shared that DCI "researches physics, chemistry, biomedical problems, the contribution to society which is the formation of students and bring modern science to today. It is a pride to be part of DCI because there are many colleagues that are very good scientists and professionals," he assured.

To the event attended the Director of the Division of Science and Engineering, Dr. David Yves Ghislain Delepine, CPA. Carlos Alfredo Torres Moreno, Gral. Dir. of Education, representing the municipal president of Leon, Lic. Hector López Santillana; and Dr. Eric Rosas Solís, Coordinator of Intellectual Property of the Center of Research in Optics (CIO), as well as the administrative and support personnel, and students from degree and postgraduate.
