Guanajuato, Gto., a 7 de octubre de 2016.- The Council for the Accreditation of Higher Education of Arts A.C. (CAESA), recognized that the degree in Music offered by the Department of Music offered by the Division of Architecture, Art and Design (DAAD) of Campus Guanajuato, covers the necessary requirements to be accredited as a quality program, condition that will remain valid from June 3rd 2016 to June 2nd 2021.

The accreditation record was delivered by Dr. Sergio Rommel Alfonso Guzmán, CAESA's President, to the Rector of Campus Guanajuato, Dr. Teresita de Jesús Rendón Huerta; to the M.A. Juan Martín Aguilera Morales, DAAD's Director; to Dr. Arturo Pérez López, Director of the Department of Music and Dr. Ramón Alvarado Angulo, Coordinator of the degree in Music.

To the ceremony held in the hall "Héctor Quintanar" of the Art's Building, attended professors, students and administrative personnel from the department of music, to which the Rector of Campus Guanajuato recognized everyone for their effort.

"This recognition fills us with pride not only the Department of Music, but all the Campus and all the University of Guanajuato", affirmed Dr. Teresita de Jesús Rendón Huerta Barrera, who was pleased to be part of this historical moment for the university community of DAAD and remembered all the great pillars of the ancient School of Music and the Symphonic Orchestra (OSUG).

It is worth to remember that CAESA's accreditation was requested for the degree in Music since 2015, and the following stages were covered: March 2015 to March 2016, evidence in personal, academic, students, study plans, learning evaluation, liaison-extension, research, infrastructure and equipment and administrative management, was gathered.

This year's May, we had the visit of evaluators or academic peers, who made the analysis and review of files, interviewed academic personnel, studies, graduates, employers; and in last August, the accreditation of the degree in Music was dictated and the record was delivered on the same month, along with the recommendations to attend in short, medium and long terms.

At the ceremony, Dr. Arturo Pérez López, Director of the Department of Music welcomed the authorities and interpreted in the piano "Clair de Lune", of C.A. Debussy; and afterwards the choir from the Department and Students of High School, under the direction of Dr. Ramón Alvarado Angulo, interpreted "No soy yo" of Cristobal de Morales; "De la Dulce mi Enemiga" of Gabriel Garrido and "Chacona" of Juan Arañez.

In his message, M.A. Juan Martín Aguilera Morales; Director of the Division of Architecture, Art and Design, exposed that the University of Guanajuato is a synonym of educational quality, a point of reference that justifies any process or change or action program, and in that context, efficiency is one of the most important components.

In this framework, he said, that the University of Guanajuato, the Division of Architecture, Art and Design and the Department of Music evaluates itself, auto-criticizes, evolves and re-plans with a sole purpose: achieve a quality education center and so move on and construct a good education as a final goal.
