The University of Guanajuato signs an agreement with SEDESOL to collaborate in the program "Life insurance for heads of household"

Guanajuato, Gto., October 10, 2016.- As part of their efforts to encourage the comprehensive development of the community, the University of Guanajuato (UG), signed an agreement with the Department of Social Development (SEDESOL).

Such agreement has the objective to encourage heads of household of UG –teachers, students, administrative, as well as the mothers of students under 24 years old—to integrate in the program "Life insurance for heads of household", which offers the possibility of a life insurance.

This insurance provides women with the certainty that, in case of orphanage, their children in vulnerable situation, may have this economic aid to encourage to enter and remain in the school system.

UG's General Rector, Dr. Luis Felipe Guerrero Agripino, held that the program is fundamentally oriented for women, and answers an important axis of the Institutional Program UGénero, as for the institutional liaison to support and encourage women.

He emphasized that this signature visualizes the participation of all the university areas, hence, he thanked the approach and recognized the importance of reinforcing bonds with institutions to benefit the community.

On the matter, the Federal Delegate of SEDESOL in Guanajuato, Lic. Claudia Brígida Navarrete Aldaco, expressed that this program is an act of social justice for who faces vulnerable situations. Likewise, recognized UG for encouraging the comprehensive development of their community, that at the same time forms responsible citizens.

The state coordinator of the program "Life insurance for heads of household", Lic. Carlos Alberto Olavarría Zárate, said that the program of which he is responsible of, is the youngest in the Department and the liaison with other institutions has been fundamental for its progress, reason why he thanked the University of Guanajuato for the willingness to work in benefit of the people of Guanajuato.

Víctor Manuel Hernández Manríquez; and the General Secretary of the Syndical Association of Administrative Workers of the University of Guanajuato (ASTAUG), Victor Jiménez Ramírez.
